A scholarly work on music which followed on the heels of Wilson's great success with his debut novel, The Outsider, Brandy of the Damned concerns itself with the development of classical and jazz music from the great romantics onwards, with particular emphasis on the work of such innovators as Schonberg, Bartok, Hindemith and Stravinsky as well as the British scene.
